Go here for free AV and AS programs. I recommend AVG AV, Windows Defender, SpywareBlaster AS programs as a basic start. SpyBot Search and Destroy and AdAware are also very good prgrams. AdAware SE in the free version is only an on demand scanner. Spybot will provide full time protection if you go into Advanced Mode and turn on the Tea Timer. http://www.filehippo.com/
