Ya its better to use Anti-Virus to remove the virus. But if it not works then format the hard disk.
For Windows XP:- To format your hard drive in Windows XP click on start. After that right click on My Computer and choose Manage.
Next click on Disk Management and you will see all hard disks and other drives mounted on your system.
Right click on the partition you want to format and click on Format…. After that follow the instructions to format your drive.
For Windows Vista:- Double Click the Computer button. Right click on the drive [which u wanna format] and click on format option and the disk will be formatted.

there are two ways on formating your harddrive the first method is,
if you have the Window XP/Vista installtion disk place this in the disk tray and choose fresh install, remember to unplug everything except the monitor/keyboard/mouse
the second is to click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/command promtp and type C:format*.*
this should wipe everything from your harddrive including nasties.
good luck

oh yes, that will definitely work. I have done it myself, although I prefer the Factory Restore. I have also Reformatted the whole drive. the only downside is it takes Half a day or more to get all the downloads and upgrades afterwards
but try ad-aware first, theres a free one and man its good.

Yeah it would but you don’t need to go that far, just download spybot and SuperAntiSpyware, update them and then run them and they should find it. Also you may want to either upgrade or buy a Security suite to help prevent common viruses from getting to your computer.

You want to use AVG Internet Security, it not only clears spyware but does other things beside, like monitors you system for incoming spyware, gives you a firewall, takes care of viruses in real time etc.etc.
It is the best suite of programs to keep your machine clean.

You don’t need to do anything as drastic as formatting your hard drive, that should be used only as an absolute last resort. Google it and you will get help.
