Most products that try to handle viruses and malware (known as badware) tend to be weak in one area. For instance, Norton does a significantly better job with viruses than it does with malware. Spysweeper does a much better job with spyware than it does with viruses.
There is only one product I have ever used that I feel successfully handles all types of virus and spyware detection. They are a pair of products, Repelit and Scrubit, from itSoftware (http://itSoftwareProducts.com ). If you have an existing solution, they are compatible with all of the major security products.
However, they only sell to businesses, so if you are trying to purchase a solution for your home computer, it will not be an option for you. If you need a home solution and feel your computer security is important, I would suggest purchasing both Spysweeper and Norton.
As far as popup protection, if your machine does not have any badware on it, the built in popup protection in IE and Firefox works pretty well.

You don’t have to buy anything, but you are asking for three different things. Popups occur on the internet when you don’t have and use a popup blocker. They are ads, and while annoying, they are harmless. Spyware is one thing, and quite separate from viruses. If you want to buy an expensive program like Norton, McAfee, or Kaspersky, it’s your money. Most of us use the best free ones:
Google’s Toolbar and popup blocker
Avast 4-Home antivirus
SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware

1. Popup blocker: Google toolbar with popup blocker. Be VERY CAREFUL in selecting a toolbar. Most of them are rid with malware. Other options are Yahoo toolbar and MSN toolbar. toolbar.google.com

zone alarm is by far, the best all in one package out there especially if you are running windows xp service pack 2. I don’t think it’s compatible with Vista yet.
