zone alarm is by far, the best all in one package out there especially if you are running windows xp service pack 2. I don’t think it’s compatible with Vista yet.

Hi,
There are programs that can do all the three, but I really don’t think they are good enough. You don’t have to BUY these programs. You can actually get world class solutions for free! Here are my recommendations (everybody has their own favorites)
Free virus scanner: Avast gives even the paid ones a run for their money! Download it free for home and personal use form:http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Editi…
1. Popup blocker: Google toolbar with popup blocker. Be VERY CAREFUL in selecting a toolbar. Most of them are rid with malware. Other options are Yahoo toolbar and MSN toolbar. toolbar.google.com
2. Anti sypware: Spybot is 100% free for home and personal use. You can download it from here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl…
3. Anti adware: The best ad ware scanner there is, and its free! http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-a…
4. Best Free firewall: Comodo – download it from: http://www.download.com/Comodo-Firewall-…
There you go. Thats all you need! And of course, use FireFox as a browser. Its so much more better than IE and has an inbuilt popup blocker.

You don’t have to buy anything, but you are asking for three different things. Popups occur on the internet when you don’t have and use a popup blocker. They are ads, and while annoying, they are harmless. Spyware is one thing, and quite separate from viruses. If you want to buy an expensive program like Norton, McAfee, or Kaspersky, it’s your money. Most of us use the best free ones:
Google’s Toolbar and popup blocker
Avast 4-Home antivirus
SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware
