Windows Spyware Removal Programs – What to Look for

Posted by admin 18 January, 2010 (0) Comment

If you own a computer, then chances are you’ve been affected by spyware. And, if you’re like me, there is nothing more frustrating than dealing with annoying pop-ups, having your home page changed or just dealing with a painfully slow computer.

The worse thing about spyware is that it’s like cockroaches. Where you fine one piece of spyware, you’re almost definitely going to find more. Multiple studies have shown that a computer that has any spyware probably has several and even dozens of different programs installed. This is because of the sheer amount of spyware out there just waiting to infect an unprotected computer. On top of this, windows spyware removal is notoriously frustrating, time consuming and sometimes downright impossible. Windows spyware removal has got to be one of the most difficult tasks a computer user will ever encounter.

The only way you can guarantee your computer won’t get infected with spyware is if you simply don’t connect to the Internet. But then what good is having a computer? The Internet is almost a necessity in this day and age. However, you can fight back against spyware and take actions to make sure you’re computer is protected.

When looking for a windows spyware removal and anti-spyware programs, there are certain features you should look for.

A program should have the following features:

-Real time blocking to warn you of possibly dangerous programs as you encounter them

-The ability to schedule scans to keep your computer clean without having to watch the scan

-An up-to-date database of current spyware programs to make sure that the software is capable of detecting the latest threats

-Automatic updates so the program you run is looking for every possible threat

Finding a windows spyware removal program with these features is crucial to keeping your computer running quickly, smoothly and without interruptions. If you spend any time on the Internet, or using file-sharing programs then it is absolutely essential that you have an anti-spyware and spyware removal program installed on your machine. Without one, your computer is guaranteed to become infected and eventually grind to a screeching halt.

Posted by admin 11 January, 2010 (0) Comment

Adware and spyware removal programs have the capability of maintaining peak performance of your computers operation. Whenever you surf the Internet you open up yourself or rather your computer to the dangers of an adware and spyware attack.

There are many ways in which your computer can pick up these type of programs. The need for adware and spyware removal has increased with the constant and annoying bombardment of advertisements and pop ups experienced while on the Internet. Now days it is almost impossible to avoid having your computer infected with adware and spyware. It is very possible that you have unwittingly allowed the programs to be installed on your computer causing you the need for an adware and spyware removal program. With the growing number of pop ups that you experience throughout the day, having clicked on the yes or OK tab while trying to close down a pop up is an easy mistake to have happen. These pop ups are not only just a nuisance they can also be very damaging as many of them carry a malicious code that gets into your system registry.

The Need To Install A Pop Up Blocker

You will never completely eliminate the need for an adware and spyware removal program but there are precautions that you can take to reduce the threat of an adware and spyware attack.

Installing a pop up blocker on your computer can really save you a lot of frustration while surfing the net. You really need a good pop up blocker which the Google and MSN Toolbar contain and you can download either toolbar for free. Taking such precautions will reduce your need for an adware and spryware removal program by reducing your chances of unwittingly opening a pop up ad.

When surfing the web your computer will be much more secure if you use one of the more popular web browsers such as FireFox or Internet Explorer. Implementing a few of these relatively easy steps will help to take some of the worry out of surfing the net. You will enjoy higher performance from your computer and improve the speed of surfing the net as you learn more ways of avoiding adware and spyware.

How Do You Know If You Need Adware And Spyware Removal?

If your browser has suddenly changed to a website you are not familiar with or you are experiencing a lot of pop up ads these are problematic symptoms that you should watch out for. If the performance of your computer has decreased significantly you should look into getting an adware and spyware removal program.

Some Of The Dangers Of Adware And Spyware

Adware itself is not always a danger to your computer. There are some companies that will offer free software that contains adware and while the program is in use it will display a certain number of ads. Personally I would stay clear of such offers because you never really know what is being downloaded to your computer. Adware and spyware removal is necessary because the threat of identity theft is a reality.

Adware and spyware gets into your computers registry and it can start collecting personal information that you have typed into your computer. So if you noticed any of the signs I have mentioned happening to your computer then it is time to get yourself a good adware and spyware removal program.

There are some free adware and spyware removal programs available but I highly recommend that you never use these. They have the ability to do much more harm then good. when downloading something to your computer you should know exactly what it is. I have heard terrible stories about people using free adware and spyware removal programs. One of the best ones I have come across is RegClean. But I suggest you do your homework and read up on some of the available programs. I do highly recommend you buy a program and run it on a regular basis because an adware and spyware removal program will keep your registry clean and dramatically improve the performance of your computer.

Anti-Spyware Remover Programs: What You Should Know

Posted by admin 7 January, 2010 (0) Comment

Copyright (c) 2009 Michael A Jones

Just how necessary is anti-spyware remover software to protect your computer? How much of a threat does spyware pose to you anyway?

The bad news is spyware is everywhere and your computer can easily be infected by simply browsing the internet or making downloads of various items. Some spyware simply records your internet browsing activity generally with the purpose of understanding your likes and dislikes so advertising relative to your habits can be sent your way.

The more threatening type of spyware logs your keystrokes so even your credit card numbers, and ID particulars can be shared with others and misused. This evidently is the major threat most fear.

If you notice a sudden deterioration in the speed of your computer, coupled with popup windows appearing all over the place, even when you are not even browsing the internet, take note! Or if your browser starts giving strange results and doesn’t automatically go to google or yahoo or whichever search engine you normally use, it could be spyware has infected your computer and is deluging you with adverts or providing search results that have been tampered with.

The good news is that you can obtain for free anti-spyware remover programs that do a reasonable job of keeping your computer clean. Microsoft have their own called Windows Defender. Another is Ad-Aware, and the free virus scanner from AVG also contains an anti-spyware remover. So before you reach for your wallet and shell out for one of the many anti-spyware programs you see advertised, try the freebies first. Just pop those names into your favorite search engine and you will get to the download page for each one.

The bad news is, there are gaps in whatever anti-spyware remover you use. As most are checking for pieces of code on your computer that match with a database of known rogue programs, the software is only as good as the database. And of course, as new spyware gets written all the time, there is bound to be a window of opportunity for the spyware to work, from the time new spyware gets circulated to it being identified and added to the database of the anti-spyware remover.

The good news is you can reduce the threat considerably by just keeping in mind certain basic principles and tactics:

1. You can use two or three different anti-spyware remover programs regularly. As their respective databases will be different, what one misses another may catch.

2. Make sure you enable the firewall on your computer or buy a third party firewall for extra protection.

3. Your anti-spyware remover programs should be updated regularly (enable the automatic update feature) and also be sure to keep your Windows operating system updated with the security fixes provided by Microsoft.

4. An obvious protection but still worth re-stating: Never open emails you don’t recognize, or at least, never, never, never, download or open attachments from senders you don’t know.

When it comes to anti-spyware remover programs, the bad news is spyware can be very difficult to shut out completely as the landscape is changing all the time. The good news is, you can protect yourself reasonably well with free anti-spyware remover programs, common sense, and an awareness of your computer’s performance so you immediately notice when things are ‘not quite right’. Don’t ignore it. Investigate and save yourself potential grief!
